another day of eventful cheerleading. I have mush to blog about, although much of it is bad stuff...
I'll start with the bad stuff first.
Today in the poor spirit of a bad habit, I swore when a stunt came down. I don't want to make excuses because what I did was inherently wrong, so I apologise to Wei Ting, the flyer, whose feeling I had hurt.
Secondly, Jane had feedbacked about a poorly wordeddebrief that I had conducted, when it came to finding out what happened when Mic hit the ground today. I think I undestand what jane was trying to say (correct me if I'm wrong, Jane). Its ok that I'm a hardass about the whole issue of a flyer hitting the ground, but not ok for me to find a target to shoot. I understand the kind intentions from Jane fully. I shall try to meet you halfway. If the situation was really shitty, that spots were all around and did their best and all that, then ok there will be no blame game, but everyone will still pay for the occurence.
However, if there indeed was a spot there and he/she was dreaming/being irresponsible/caught in the wrong way, then I will directly address the person with the blame. This is to raise the overall safety of the team and also to not let it happen again. I know I do this at the expense of being unpopular, but I'm doing this for the flyers..
Ok now onto happier stuff.
I finally worked up the guts to ask Coach to validate some single stunts, and I managed to get signatures for walk up chair, walk up hands, toss to chair and toss to hands! With Chew Long! Yeah quite happy and motivated to keep working on my skills and strength. The next target is to hit extensions and liberty!
I also managed to hit walk up to extension with Elaine and Mic! (pleased with myself). Not very stable though. I think I need to be ready for the sudden weight on my system at extension, and lock it there, otherwise I will not be able to keep the stunt up.
Anyway thats about it. Have to:
- Watch My Mouth
- Assess the situation before being too aggressive
- Tong.
Cheers
Alpha Joe
